Seems they don't have the old ones anymore, but these are the slightly updated versions.

*saves links in case I'm ever in need of new speakers* Thanks Redz

these are the 6.5's i have in front i had to get mine warrentied before cause i abused the shit out of them and didnt give them enough power. guys make sure you are powering these properly they will last forever if you do
I'm wondering this also - when can you run speakers from the head unit and when do you need an amp. Redz, are you running those Audiobahns directly from the head unit? If not, where you using a 4-chan amp?
I don't know these things, but t feels like if the headunit is using a 12-14V power source, the most it can output on a 4 ohm channel is VI = V^2/R = 50 W (that's MAX not RMS). So if you want more than 25 RMS, you need an amp. Am i doing something wrong?
On the other hand, if you want to amp the speakers and you also have a sub, wouldn't you need an amp with 5 channels (1 for each speaker + 1 for the subwoofer) ? It seems like 5-chan amps are expensive/hard to find, so I feel like I'm missing something.. Do people usually use two different amps, one 4-chan for speakers and one 1-2 chan for the subwoofer?
Thanks!

It's always best to run your speakers off of an amp - much more power and sounds a lot cleaner.
As for amps, run your speakers off of a 4-channel, and your sub(s) off a mono, or a 2-channel
If you are still looking into speakers, and you don't mind the pricey ones, go with focal all the way.

yes most people usually use 2 amps, one 2 channel amp or 4 channel amp for the subs, and a 4 channel amp for the 6.5'' door speakers and 6x9 deck speakers(back). Depends how much power you want running to your subs depending on how many channels you want for the subs, or how many speakers you are running.

WTF? Tibby, if you know anyone who bought a 4 channel amp (or really even a 2 channel) for subs then they're overspending, no reason to bridge a 4 channel for subs. Buy a mono amp for your subs, because unless you really really want stereo subwoofers there's no point to it.
Second, 90% of decks out there are 50w max/channel, you can find that on the box or online without the admittedly impressive formula. wink1.gif
Most speakers you put in will run fine just off the deck, you can get a 4 channel that's matched to their power needs and they'll be louder and sound better.
Never run your sub and speakers off the same amp.
