Default New Alarm LED

I just bought a new little LED strip for my alarm, but it has three wires unlike the 2 wire one I have now. My question is, wha the heck do I connect this third wire to? I guess it needs to know when the power is off in the car? Any help would be appareciated

Power, Ground, and Ignition. Sometimes people don't hook them up their alarm, and instead will just have them come on when they turn off the car. That's what the ignition wire is for. But basically, if you're gonna hook it up to your alarm and have it only come on when you arm the system, then just cut off the LED light that came with your alarm, and wire in the LED strip that you bought with only the power and ground wires. Good luck... wink

it didnt come on. I'm guessing it needs that signal from the ignition wire to light up.

Anyone know where/which the ignition wire is (2k1 Tib)?

2 of the wires should be a ground, & they BOTH have to be grounded. 1 is power, 1 is a constant ground, & 1 goes to the radio fuse(the radio fuse becomes a ground when the car is off. This way it doesnt technically work with your alarm, but only when the car is off. Which is kinda the same, i would assume that every timeu get out of ur car u turn on the alarm anyway.

Hope this helped

I put one of these in and i think it was a yellow wire(big sucker) up by where the key goes in. It was a ***** to get to. I called varad which was the company that makes mine and they told me the exact wire color and everything + i did some testing myself.

Thanks
