Need help with wiring and running wires.
Hey guys, I took my dash board apart today because I wanted to run some wires from my engine bay to the interior, but I couldn't take the whole thing off. Wires from clock, A/C, buttons were holding the dash, and there was no way I could take it off( I took all the screws out!). Please help me! I want to know how it's possible to take that damn thing off! and if possible post pictures! I know it's been done and it just makes me feel very dumb 02.gif
Also could some of you post some pictures of where you ran your wires from engine bay to the interior of the car, or at least tell me how to do it!
Another questions regarding wiring SAFC, for those of you who has already done it, how in the world you were able to work with 3" of open wires that are in a one big BLAH! I have no idea how one can find needed wire to connect, and then being able to split the wire and connect something to it... it doesn't get into my head. Once again I feel dumb!
HELP!
thanks

Hyundai Webtech has this...
go to http://www.hmaservice.com/webtech/default.asp
Put in your model, year, and engine. Go to the shop tab, into the Body (Interior&Exterior) Sub menu, then the Console and Interior Trim sub menu, and then select the crash pad sub menu, and finally click on removal. You will see detailed illustrations and directions and I hope this is helpful!

OP did you un-hook the a/c/heat control dial from beside the gas pedal??
There is a little screw holding a long, coat-hanger looking, line to the side of the console. Take that out and you'll have a ton more room to get at the harnesses and screws on the back of the dash.
As for the SAFC, I dunno man, good luck, I hate wiring, too many colours. Hopefully there is some sort of instruction manual that came with it. There was a DIY for SAFC installation wasn't there? My only suggestion is to make sure it is neat and tidy, I hate losing wires and having them hanging all over the place.

you don't have to unplug your heater temp control wire from down-by the gas pedal....
What do you mean it wouldn't come out? did you unplug them? Press the tab down and pull...there's 8 if you have RD1 (3 for each switch-set on either side of cluster and one to clock, one to hazard....does that help?

Yes, you do.
Thanks for the replies guys, some of you confused me, but I will try to do something with my car next weekend if it's warm enough.
Where can I run a wire near the gas pedal? show me a pic, cuz I drilled a hole near my clutch, but there is more than one body that needs to be drilled and my bits weren't long enough..... 02.gif
Hopefully Tim will help me with the SAFC wiring, but for everyone else can you post pictures of wires and other crap that you ran from interior to the engine bay? I need to know where you did it, and how you did it!!!
thanks
