OK well now i dont know what i want to do lol. I like to listen to my music loud but i dont want my ears to blead. I like it to be crisp no distortion or bass crackle at higer volumes. My head unit is 20 watt RMS. should i get higher watt speakers and a amp (if so hamy many watts should it be 400?) or lower watt speakers.

^^ You'll get louder sound with an amplifier and speakers. It all depends on how serious you want to get with your audio.

If you hear distortion, you should always turn your radio down. It not only hurts your ears, it hurts your speakers.

An amp that outputs 100W RMS on each channel (4x100) should be plenty good. And then get 100W or more speakers.
