Default MTX or Audiobahn?

i posted about my system before and since then i learned alot about the difference between cheap crap i.e pryamid, pyle, boss, volfenhag sony etc
And the good stuff so i finally narrowed it down to a brands i could not only afford but also look good in my car.

Now my final question is which brand is better MTX or Audiobahn? i plan on getting all my system all one brand so which ones have you heard good or bad about?

thanks

high end mtx isnt that bad. many people have different thoughts on audiobahns though. i personally had a 12 inch audiobahn that hit hard and sounded all right but i guess i had it hit to hard cause it pulled the speaker wireing loose from the basket. Damn 1800 watt amps!!!

one more question what gauge wire will i need for these type of amps? the mtx website says that it requires a 10 gauge? And the audiobahn doesnt say anything....i was thinking about getting a 8 gauge kit because i could get a good deal on it..but will it effect my proformance at all?

8 gauge minimum, never go below that. but i never put in anything lower then 4 gaug cause u will upgrade sooner or later so u might as well be ready.

You'd be happier going all audiobahn.

Use thick wire, dont be cheap.

i looked into kicker but they just dont have the look im going for in my car, so im willing to give up a tad bit of power for looks in the case.

One question about boxes while i got yalls attention. i hear sealed boxes are the best all around and ported boxes are the best you can get and bandpass boxes are the worse because most are not tuned to what kind of subs people put in them...

so my question is i found this deal on the internet
http://www.cardiscountstereos.com/Catalog%...oduct+%23=ABP12

its made from audiobahn and says its tuned so would it give me good bass and good sound quality? or would it suck just like all the other bandpass boxes? its one hell of a deal for 139.99

none of the boxes are best, they are all good at what they do. the box depends on what kind of power u have and the subs, but in general they all have there high points so there is no best.

I have 2 different boxes that I swap every once and a while. The first one is a sealed box with 2-10" Eclipse Subs. The second one is a bandpass box with 2-12" Visonik Subs. I run both of them on a Boss Ripper-595 Amp. I just took out my Visoniks and put back in my Eclipses beacuse the Visonik is very boomy!

It seems that if you want boomy loud bass go with a bandpass box and if you want crisp hard bass then get a sealed box. I liked to visoniks for their loudnes, but for everyday listening I'd rather go with something crisper. Also my trunk rattles worse with the Visoniks. smile.gif

I might be selling the Visoniks too because they take up a lot of room in my trunk so if you are looking for a set e-mail me.
