I think silvertibs has his mounted in the ash tray cover. I may do that to mine this weekend, I'll post up a DIY if I do it.

hey java ! ok so in the past hour I cut the shit out of the ash tray !!!

but it looks great !!!! I tried and succeeded to keep the ash tray functional yet strong even tho i was cutting out most of the interior of it !!!

the cigarette lighter was completely removed !!

and most of the ash trays left side was cut out, but after the safc2 sat on top it was completely unoticable, i will take pics soon !!!

its mounted and looks great !!! and it works just like the old ash tray !!! haha im siked

next week i install it and tweak it out !

Leave him alone, he's excited. fing02.gif

If you want to fill in the gaps you can use ABS cement located in the plumbing aisle at Lowes.

Looks like you guys pretty much have it covered. Unfortunately I never made a DIY cause I wanted to be unique. (Yeah, I'm an ass like that) But since people can now realize how easy it is I'll do one up Sunday.

I have to redo mine cause I just got myself some RD2 surrounds. Unfortunately the ashtray isn't compatible.

Good job on trying it yourself though loneshark. It's wierd how simple it was.

yea it was a sinch i made a crazy black mess with the dremel lol

i almost forgot i posted this, well i still havent hooked it up, i dont have the other side of the harnes on the safc2, so the wires that lead up to the plug, are so thin im afraid to cut them because splicing them into new wires is still gonna be flimsy, so im goign to solder them so i have enough wire to run to the ecu,

yea redz exclamation points are a key tool in desribing one self, it contains personality, something you lack back packer robot boy !!!

youve been warned

ya see dont mess with me, javas got my back biatch

Did you ever consider mounting it in the sunglass holder? I think that would be a great spot and probably easier to place it there too.

and another thing thats been covered a million times is BROKEN LINKS THAT DONT WORK !!!! FIX YOUR PICS haha.gif

yea i was think about the sunglass holder, but it really wouldnt look as clean as the ash tray, the cuts involved would make it look a little rough, so i opted for the ash tray !! GO WITH THE ASH TRAY !!! it looks tighter
