First off let me say i hope this is in the right forum if not sorry.. I got a really good deal on a autometer monster tach with the shift light i need som help with the wiring thow?? since we got a dis system does anyone have a chart or can help with the wiring please help thanks...... All help is greatly appreciated...

There is a way to do it. You feed the tach off the gauge tach signal, not the signal off one of our 2 coils.
BTW...Can I ask why? Our cars already have Tachs...why did you need a second Tach?

You could have just gotten the Autometer big shift light.
I just got done installing the same exact tach on my friends dodge ram. Ok, the white wire goes to the dimmer switch, hook the red wire to the 12v+ on your radio, green goes to the tach guage on the car already like Random is talking about, and the black just grounds to a good ground. It was really easy. If you need anything else just ask.

We have a distributorless ignition system. That will not work. You will only be reading 1/2 engine RPM if you use that setup(we have 2 coils). You have to use the signal from tach wire that goes from the instrument cluster to the ECU.
