There is a way to do it. You feed the tach off the gauge tach signal, not the signal off one of our 2 coils.

BTW...Can I ask why? Our cars already have Tachs...why did you need a second Tach?

Because a 5" Tach and a huge ass Yellow Light takes off 8 tenths.. Damn, something that damn big and heavy has to throw off the physics of the car.. smile.gif

I just got done installing the same exact tach on my friends dodge ram. Ok, the white wire goes to the dimmer switch, hook the red wire to the 12v+ on your radio, green goes to the tach guage on the car already like Random is talking about, and the black just grounds to a good ground. It was really easy. If you need anything else just ask.

We have a distributorless ignition system. That will not work. You will only be reading 1/2 engine RPM if you use that setup(we have 2 coils). You have to use the signal from tach wire that goes from the instrument cluster to the ECU.
