Ok, good news for me, I managed to get a new DVD drive and get my first Xbox running again.
Wait.
That means I have 2 working Xboxes.

Ok, so the obvious. Ones going in the car.
Questions though...
1. Where to mount it?
2. How to power it?
3. Where do I mount the power converter/hook it up?
4. Anything else I need to think about?
Let me answer a few comments that will still be posted...
1. I hate the PS 2 and no, I won't get one. Give me ONE good reason to.
2. I love the stock controllers but the Small ones are going in the Tib.

If I were you I would get a 12volt power supply for it. You know it is basically a computer so it only uses 12 and 5 volts. It will require some soldering on your part, but will be better than a transformer. I will look up some actual parts for you and post later. That's what I plan on doing also.
i would stick it in the glove box. make sure u stick some fans back there though so it doesnt get hot. or just have it open when u play it. i would power it klike java suggested and just mount the power supply on the firewall. maybe u could yank out the glove box and make a fiberglass or ABS enclosure for it, and then stick that in there. also, shouldnt this be in ICE. wink.gif
I would create a custom panel for the rear seat (in the center) and have it as like an arm rest, where you lift it up and there's the XBox... but that may take too much work... You could always mount it in the corner of the trunk immediately behind the backseat and get extensions for the controllers if needed... that way people in the backseat could play one-on-one with a monitor in each headrest, and have it have an on/off switch to the in-dash DVD so you can either play XBox on it or watch DVD's...

I've got one 7 inch In Dash lcd screen and 2 5.6 inchers for the rear headrests. I have a son so he rides in the back so the rear seats have to stay.
I was thinking of this however...
Get an extra set of Tibby FRONT seats (I like the stock ones and am just going to get them re-covered), take the headrests off. Get them re-covered. Take out the rear seat assy, and mount the 2 extra seats in the rear. 4 bucket seats. Heh heh... Mount the Xbox tween the rear seats.
What ya think?
I forgot we had a ICE forum. It gets used that much ya know? *Sigh*
Tibby 01, do you have a clue how big an Xbox is mang? Imagine trying to fit that sucker in the glovebox. OUCH!
They've got this power converter/supply at the PX, it's pretty nice and small. Only one outlet but I think it's enough. It's only $39 and it's called AC Anywhere I think. I could hide it under the seats or somethin.

you know how some rear seats have a fold down arm rest between the left and right seats? isn't there a small space between the two sides you could mount it on the seat? I like the idea of the front seats without headrests... maybe mount the XBox behind the center console?

I don't think behind the center console would be good, too many feet moving there. Not to mention trying to slide your seats forward and back.
I was also thinking, I've taken this one apart and know what it looks like inside rather well. With some wire extensions I could take the HD and DVD drive out and mount them somewhere else. Maybe put the Xbox motherboard and powersupply stuff in the back behind the seats and wire the DVD drive into a external box and mount it in the center console ejecting out the back?
Hmm...
Thats an idea.
On my previous idea with the seats, can someone do the measurements for me? Would a stock front seat, minus headrests, fit mounted in the back (From top to bottom), and how much space would I have in between the seats?
