Installing A Powerwire For Amp & Sub
hi i have a hyundai tiburon (coupe) 2000 generation 2 the one with the twin headlamps. i want to install my sub an amp however the problem im faced with is i dont want to drill any holes in the engine bay for the power cable to come from the battery into the vehical. does anyone know if there is a hole already or any ideas on how to go about this thankyou
You should check out the DIY Here Pretty much you just go through your side fender and there is already a hole that leads into the car. You can see that in those pictures. I have done the same thing without any problems. I'm sure that a lot of people here have done the same thing and could give you more help.

the easiest way is just to drill a hole right at the bend where it becomes vertical on the passenger's side, under the carpet, grommet the suxor in there and run your wire. It's quick, easy, does not require anything to be removed. But you said that you didn't want to drill a hole.

Well bro you can acutally look for any pre drilled whole that have wires going through them. Like if you have had an alarmput on that wasnt stock in the car then the person who put it in would have had to drill through the firwall to get to the engine bay. If you find that whole you can fish the wire though that one. But when i needed a whole i found the one with the alarm going in it and drilled a small whole right next to it. Drilling a whole through the firewall realy isnt that big of a deal ya know. I put mine right behind the brake but a little higher(just above where the carpet ended)i had to do that to run a hot wire to contro all my neons. ok---hope i could have helped you just a little bit. good luck

if you have an automatic, you can punch a hole in the firewall where the clutch is supposed to be mounted.
I ran mine through the fender, and coming in through the black rubber grommet into the cabin

I still contend that the fender is the best route for our cars. I've done amp installs on 4 different cars now, so I'm starting to get a feel for what works well, and this is one of the best ways i've found on any car. It comes out at an incredibly good spot for routing to the trunk.
the fender definitly is a good spot, im pretty sure i was the 1st to go that route.
but its not the best if your running a smaller wire (4 gauge or smaller). theres a stock rubber gromit right dead center of the engine on the firewall where they run the stock wiring through. its insanely easy to run a wire through there. but 0/1 gauge doesnt fit to well, so if your going that big, stick with the fender, but i highly doubt you will.
