... if you can't figure even that out on your own you shouldn't be installing your own subs. Find a friend who knows how to do it.

You've got two options, the way I see it.
If your're a total noob (we all were at one point), you can start searching through the forums and be creative. There're DIYs for other things that show how to remove the shifter and stereo surrounds. Its been covered a hundred times. They just pop off. Then you can pull out your stereo from there, probably just a few screws holding it in. Then figure out where the wires from your amp need to go, on the stereo. If you can't figure that out, search the web for a wiring diagram for your mysterious Alpine HU. A model number would help with that search.
Your other option is what those guys said. Ask a knowledgable friend to help you.

The only reason you should be installing your own subs is if you're trying to disregard electrical safety and burn down your car. Have a experienced friend help. There's alot more to a safe stereo installation then hooking up wires to screws. There's a reason every town has a few stereo installers.

Noone should go at a sterio installation alone the first time. There's too much at risk. There are plenty of DIY guides, but one person's idea of how to explain something can be different from another person's idea. When you're doing a project the first time alot can go wrong.
There's a minimum of 7 wires on a sterio. That's alot of room for error for someone who has not worked on automotive electronics. Judging by the first post, i'd say this is someone who has no experience.
You should never do something which could comprimise $5,000 in equipment(your tib). It's easy to burn down a car with an electrical fire. Get a friend who has installed sterios before to help and make sure you are extra careful to make sure there is no way anything forseeable can go wrong.

Best way to learn is to be a helper when a friend is installing it. That way you see it first hand. All cars are basically the same its just a matter of what you have to remove to do it.
