Hi,
I am interested in in changing the lights behind the air con / air circ area on my 01 Tib. I pulled the dash and pulled the bulbs out and was not sure on the size. I think they are the same as the temp/ fuel lights on the gaiuges (74's I believe) Was wondering if anyone knows for sure.
I have recently done a few interior lighting mods like Boms reverse indiglo gauges, (they look great) I too was taken in by the el glow 99-01 gauges on ebay, so I got the Boms one after the first ones did not fit. I also just did the blue door lights and the led window switch mod. I wiil do the button switch on the air / circ buttons at same time as changing the bulbs. I just need to know the size. Thanks for any help

sorry its blurry. i used this bulb for the a/c controls. i dont really care that u cant see the red in the heater.

those special leds actually fit perfect in the old bulb holes. just solder the leads on the leds to the wires that were hooked up to the bulbs, put them in the holes, and they will stay put. u can get them from
www.superbrightleds.com.

Right, to change all of the colors in the tib, I'll be doing a full writeup when I get back and do mine, pics and all.

Here's what you need for behind the guages = 4 X 194 bulbs (If you are getting LEDs, which I'd recommend, do NOT get the 4 bulb type, get the single bulb dish head style, they actually glow better and wider), and 2 X 73/74 bulbs (Again, get the LED's). All are available from Superbrightleds.com like Tiby 01 said.

I don't know the exact quantities needed for behind the AC yet, but again, I will do it all. I think there are 2 or 4 more 73/74's behind there. I know there is ONE more of them for the ciggerette lighter/ashtray combo, and the door lights are supposed to be 194's. To do your window controls and lock, there is a writeup in the DIY forum.

Can you take some pictures of the BOMZ guages installed during the day and at night lit up?

What can you tell us about them (I bought a set and they are in the US waiting to go in, but I was afraid they wouldn't fit because they were labled 99-01 on Ebay)?

I PMed you on that matter of fact.

EDIT: Also, if you aren't sure which ones you need off of Superbrightleds.com 's website, I've got it listed here...

for the dials u only need two leds. mine arent as bright as i want them to be though so i think ill prolly be drilling 2 more holes and sticking some cone leds in there.

redz, i had the dish style leds behind the guages at first, but they were really dim. i got the four bulb ones and bent the leds very carefully in the direction that i needed them and it turned out to be much brighter.

Tibby01, where did you get your 4 LED ones that let them bend out like that?

SoCal, are the Bomz ones wired up Reverse Indiglow or do they use the light from behind the guages?

the ones on sbleds.com. i broke the little circular silicon thing that holds them all together. just do things carefully and slowly and the leads dont break.

You don't need to buy the ones with the plastic / silicon ends.
Just get your normal Superbright LEDS like the ones you use for your window switches.
Bend the leads and solder them on the board.

It's easy!
