Just DO NOT hook the Indiglo's up to the dimmer switch. Hook them up to some other 12V power source that comes on when the lights go on. The Parking lights would be a good option. The varing voltage of the dimmer swith can burn out the indiglo's.

K thanks for the hint random. I did power it up to my battery for a few seconds..so I could test it b4 the long install. What is the guesstamated time for install? Also should I consider finishing my interior (dash) painting at the same time? Color's look SWEET!!!!
And on the mebers page? i have a few pic's ready...

I did mine, I got the indiglo gauges from E-Bay, and it took my about 2 hours to do the whole thing.. I wired my 12V to the acc. of the radio. Followed by an inline fuse. Not that hard of an install, just hard as hell finding all those little damn screws.. Random's page helped very much, too bad I didn't see it until after I got everything apart.. wink.gif

I put the APC's in today and will offer some tips...
1. You can do the indiglo type gauges without removing the needles. You will need to use either the tool that came with the gauges or a normal kitchen fork to make sure the needles do not touch the gauge face. The tach and speedo will not return to zero if you don't check that.
2. To run the wires out of the housing, you will see some vents in the top of the cluster. I cut about 3-4 bars out to run the wires through there. If you try to run them out the front it will pinch the wires.
3. To hook your wires into the park lights, which is the smart thing to do so they don't stay on all the time. Look under the dash a couple of inches to the left of the steering column and look for a green wire with a white stripe on it. I'm thinking that it was in a (white?) plug with like 6-8 wires. When you find a green/white wire, make sure to test it first. For the ground wire, just use a screw and put it into the metal behind where the plastic fuse cover trim piece is.
4. Also be careful when you pull the console apart. After you get the clear off (by pushing each tab in) and pulling LIGHTLY, as it is easy to break. Then there is a black piece that also has push in tabs, work this the same a the clear piece, two tabs at a time from one end to the other. After that is done the only thing left are the actual gauge surrounds. There are little black "push in pins" holding these pieces in. Be careful pulling those out cause when they break free they will fly off if you are not careful.
5. Not sure if you have the pad or the knobs type control. If you have the pad, you can run it under the dash and mount it under the steering wheel coming out of the same hole that the tilt lever is in. I have mine stuck there and it is out of site and still easy to access.
I think thats about it, if you have anymore ?'s please feel free to ask and I hope these tips help.

Are you refering to the rest pins?
if so I had this happen to me when pulling off the stock gauges, that little pin went flying never to be seen again. Well I came up with this little fix that might help anyone who made the same mistake. All you do is go to your local department store and pick up a hair brush(not comb) with black bristles and those little plastic balls on the ends, then cut one off and trim it to fit thru the hole in the gauge cluster the rest pin came out of (the ball on the end should keep it from going all the way thru), when you have the correct length established super glue it in place, and viola you just fixed yourself a rest pin.
On a side note if you don't lose both pins I would recomend puting the one you have in the speedo place and put the make shift pin in the RPM guage, its less noticable.
Hope that helps anyone.
