You will have to do alot of research. You will need to know what the project is exactly. It could be that your system will go into an existing daily driver car or you could create a concept vehicle to house your the system. Or even better.....you could reshape and modify your current car with a body kit, suspension, engine mods, etc.. Determine what your vehicle is going to be.
You will now have to draw out your project. It would be best to get an artist to help you with this, or you could do a couple of rough sketches on your own. The best thing to do is to make drawings that are accurate and detailed that show all angles. It's also a good idea to draw up the way your car looks BEFORE you do the installation, and a concept drawing of what you want it to look like afterwards. (Before & After)
Next you need to figure out where your project is going to be in the near future, and in the far future. What press coverage might it get? What shows will it be at to demo products? Make up a small list of magazines that you think might be interested in doing an article on your car and the shows that you will be appearing at. Don't limit the type of shows you want to enter your car into though. Include trade shows, regular consumer shows, and even maybe some shows that don't seem like you would fit in at. Inlcude posible appearances at different stereo shops, car dealer show rooms, and any type of show or exhibit that exposes your car to the public. If oyu plan on showing your car at the big events like NOPI or HIN, then find out how many usually attend the event. Get as much info about the event as possible.
