The 1st step in your project is to find a reputable car audio install shop that can help in designing the system you want to create. It's best to choose a shop that is well known in teh field. One way to find a shop like this is to read up in different 12 Volt/Car Audio mags, and maybe even some local newspeapers. You can also contact different Audio Company's and ask them for references for good shops in your area.
Now...go visit the shops. Check out their walls for trophies and awards from different organizations, and car audio companies. See what products they carry, and if those are the products that you want to install in your car. Talk to the owners or managers and try to pick their brain a little in the world of car audio. Once you feel comfy with a shop, stay loyal to them.
After you find a shop you like, sit down with the installer and talk with him about what you want and what goals you have for the system. Your system can contain products from all one company, or you can have an assortment. For an example.....if you want 1 company to sponsor your entire system, then you obvisouly need to choose a company that offers all the products that make up a complete soun dsystem. (head unit, EQ, x-over, amps, speakers, subs, etc, etc) Comapnies like Alpine, Kenwood, and Pioneer offer a full line.
On the other hand though, if you want to create a system from an assortment of companies, then you need to know which companies are prominant in a specific category. For an example......if you wanted a 1st class cd player..you may want to check out Eclipse. If you want a high end EQ, you may want to check out Audio Control. And it goes on and on like that. These are just examples, and you're free to choose what you like in sound, or companies. In any event..the car audio installer that designs your system will know which products are the best in each category and set up the best system possible. You should be warned though, that you may have to pay the shop for providing you with a design. Some shops do this, and others don't. So find out first before sitting down with an installer. wink.gif

Hey losho, do you think i could get any mods at discount or free with the system i've got. If i use that as a starting point to try and get sponsorship. All in all i got about 7-8G in my stereo. And i wanted suff like a turbo, ixion kit, lights, ya know all the fixins.
