I am in the midst of taking off my brushed aluminum dash kit cause I am going to paint the dash. I'm having serious issues with getting off the 3M adhesive the kit leaves behind. When you take off the dash kit it leaves some of the foam backing and it's a PITA to get off....I've tried using Goo-Gone and Acetone, both without any good results. Does anybody know of a GOOD/GREAT product I can use to get this crap off? Is there an actual 3M remover product?
thanks,
thanks,

The oil from the peanut butter is what supposedly works. Try WD-40 to break up the glue.

any kind of citric cleaner should work as well. 3M also makes a specific adhesive remover. Gets tar, bugs, and sticker residue off. Get it at Walmart.

Try heating it up a bit, with a heat gun. But do be careful not to get it too hot with all them chemicals in the stuff.
See? BUUUURN! joke.gif
