Some cars are really easy to be stolen if they dont have a good alarm. So how easy do you think it is to take one of our cars (not like anyone want to)?

X3s are ridiculously easy to steal

pry top of door open --> use coat hanger hook to operate trunk release --> crawl through into car

OR

use slim jim to unlock door

OR

use hammer to smash fragile plastic door handle --> unlock door

then

smash the fragile plastic steering column cover

follow wires from ignition barrel to immobiliser

follow wires from immobiliser to steering column wiring connecter

reconnect matching wires (easy peazy)

And that's how far I can go. It's all simple stuff but I'm yet to defeat the steering lock. I'm sure there's a way but I haven't been bothered checking.

If I'm not mistaken, I do believe the Tiburon was one of the top cars stolen in Canada a few years back.

In USA mostly all the elder cars didn't have transponders in the key.

In UK all Accent had Transponders Even 1996/1997 Mk1 Coupes (RD) come with units like the accent SMART units. When i did my beta swap i could only use USA Ecu/Ecm but USA Ecu as shiter admissions. in Uk we much tighter.

Half my key is stuck in my ignition u can start it with pretty much anything and I have no faith in the weak ass horn that used for the alarm.

Someone tried to steal my XD2 04 Elantra once. Did $1,978 in damage trying, but only walked away with an amp and left me with an undriveable car.......of course on 4th of July weekend too!

How do you break a steering lock?

I tried busting the lock on an LC accent by attaching a tow rope to the steering wheel and getting a run up with an X3 - I now have a new tow rope.
