How common is it
For mold to develop inside a car if its stored for the winter? Is there an easy to tell if you do have mold and if so, how do you get rid of it?

Pretty common. It'll usually be slimy feeling or visibly moldy steering wheel, shift knob, seat belts, and to a lesser degree upholstery.
