High pitch from radio/amplifier
So Madtib... Can you tell me the cause of the problem? I have tried everything except for re-routing my wires. I just don't think that's the problem because I had the wires along the same path last time I had my system installed and I had no sound. And I am running monster cable as opposed to standard cable last time.
What should I try?

I'm assuming you have the same RCA's,yes? My guess is the theives yanked everything out and in the process dammaged a ground shield on one of the rca's.This would definetely cause the problem. If you have an OHMMETER, I can tell you how to figure out if that's the problem without having to replace the RCA's first.
Let me know!!
Let me know!!
Well, if you didn't have RCA's at the time you were ripped off, then that's probably not it.Unless you just happened to get a bad set. What is getting signal Via the RCA's? Is it mid-range/trebble? If it's bass only(subwoofer), then you are not getting alternator whine from the amp.So, let me know this stuff before we continue.
Right now I have the RCA's plugged into my 4 channel Rockford Fosgate amp. The amp is powering all 4 speakers with monster cable. I didn't have the speakers powered by an amp before the break in. Do you think that might be the problem?
I will be installing another amp for my subwoofers once my alarm goes in.
What's the next step?

Okay, I was concidering the possibility that as a result of the break in,you had 1 or more broken ground shields on the RCA's.But since you didn't have RCA's at the time, that may not be the problem. It still could be,though.First of all, before we check the RCA's,I want you to re-ground the hu.It's also possibile that when they ripped out the hu, the dammaged the ground wire.So it's best to eleminate that possibility now.If we don't do this first, and look at the RCA's,and they appear to be bad, it could be that they aren't really.Anyway, I don't want to confuse you too much.
Take out the hu.Find a place inside the dash near the hu that is chassis ground.Usually you can easily find a mounting bracket for something that is screwed down to the chassis. You want to use an OHMMETER to verify that it's a good ground. If you are using an aftermarket harness adapter, then just cut the ground wire off of that. Then you will butt splice a length of wire onto the hu end.The other end of the new wire will attach to your new ground location.
I think I hit all the points.I did it kinda quick,so make sure you understand. If not let me know.

Hey Madtib
Thanks for helping me first of all. I am going to re-ground all my cables like you said this weekend and I will see how things go from there.
Do you think it would be best for the two of us to take this conversation off the board? We could email or do AIM. My email is jseltenr@sbcglobal.net and my AIM is bobthewonderdog6
Keep me updated

I don't have AIM,so it'll have to be e-mail. I have to work this Saturday, but I'll try to keep in contact.
Really, all you have to do right now is re-ground the hu.I'd rather do one thing at a time so we'll know what the cause was.

if not move it off the boards, put it in PM...it seems that this thread is now a conversation between you two....
but it could also be used as a tool later on for helping other ppl out. so i dunno. i'm just blowin smoke
