I am in the process of wanting to add a car alarm to my Tib. I am thinking of getting this one off crutchfield

or even this one if it is still available:

So pretty much I was wondering how hard it is to install a car alarm into our cars. Do I have to get any relays or just wire it up to the existing wires.

I got a Thor 2 way alarm that my bussy and I installed... its very time consuming so make sure you have enough time... i had to borrow my brothers car that evening for work and believe me it mae the alarm all the more expensive cuz he drives a gas guzzler... anyways... I wired it into the existing wires and used heat shrink for a nice secure bond.. theres wiring diagrams posted but do make sure you test each wire to make sure its the right one.. one of them gave me some trouble, i think it was the right turn signal wire.. that wasn't testing right and it took us a few tries to figure it out... You just need about 20ft of so of wire if your alarm doesn't come with it... I didn't have to use any relays or anything else... i'm working on a DIY but i'm waiting for my new door panel to come so I can take some pictures and post them all together...
Just take your time, follow the wiring diagram and test each wire, and use your head and you'll be ok
