Head Unit, Sub, Amp Installation Help
#1
Hey all, I have recently purchased a new Head Unit, Sub and Amp for my 2001 Hyundai Tiburon with the 4 inch stock unit:
Subs: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1099396976115
Amp: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1087342241703
HU: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1099397002981
I also have a installation kit to get the HU into my 4 inch tall stock unit spot coming in the mail. After reading the manuals and from what I already knew and some research I understand where all the wires go etc. etc. But there are a few things I don't know how to do.
1. How do you get the power cable from the inside of the car to the battery? Do I have to cut a hole anywhere?
2. How do I get the things from the back of the head unit to where they need to be, such as the remote and rca wires to the amp, and the iPlug to the dash
3. How to get the stock head unit out
I have never done any of this before and have not attempted anything yet, thanks in advance for any help.

To get the stock out you just pop of the plastic all around it and unsrew it easy enough.
The rca jacks you wanna run under your passenger door panel back to the trunk.
And for the power cable if you can't get throught the fire wall you may need a small hol to get the wire throught you run that under you drivers side door.

dont expect the DUAL brand to last ya very long..
Went through 2 of the amps, and hhgregg finally just gave me a rockford 300watt mono...and i havnt had a problem with that at all!
So it was definately the dual amps...
And i have another friend that said the subs didnt hit hard at all...plus the subs are in a bandpass box
Dont get me wrong...the box is sweet lookin, and dual makes some pretty cool lookin ish...
good luck to ya

Make sure you run your RCA to the amp on the opposite side of the car that you run your power cable back to your amp, or else you will get harmonic interference from the alternator. If your RCA's must cross your power cable, try to limit it to 90 degree angle. If you RCA's run parallel with your power for any length, you will get interference. Also, I would strongly suggest not using your stock ground wire to ground the headunit. Find a good solid bolt that bolts to the chassis and ground it there. Hope this helps! fing02.gif
