The postive wire from the HU touched the top of the HU which caused a spark.

The + wire was not insulated because I was in the process of adding some LEDS and I needed the power wire.

Now my HU doesn't work. I can't take the CD out, and the face won't turn on.

The 10amp fuse for the radio near the clutch pedal area burnt. I replaced that and still doesn't work. I checked the fuse on the back of the HU and it's good.

Now I'm thinking I fried my HU. It's a sony XF7700

Is it possible to send it out to Sony for them to fix it? I've never sent anything back to a manufacture. I bought the HU on ebay.

Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The 12v constant wire touched the top pannel of the HU while it was connected to the HU. I took the insulator off the wire because I was going to add another wire to that connection.

well, check that wire with a multimeter to determine if the radio is even getting that 12v constant power. if not, you know there is a problem somewhere else.

check that same fuse again, might still have that wire touching something, continually burning fuses.

I am getting 12v. I already checked.

Fuses have been checked and double checked. It's definetly the HU.
