Default hatch light wont turn off

yesterday i was getting something out of my hatch. i closed it and when i got back inside the car the hatch light on the dash was still lit. got out, opened the hatch, shut it again to make sure everything was closed tightly and the light was still on. i pulled up on the hatch a little to make sure it was closed and it definitely was.

any ideas?

Is the hatch light on your gauge cluster still on?

Whoops read it as the trunk light was still on haha

Anyways, it's probably the switch for the hatch. Either not making full contact or just broken.

Just looked. The light is on in the hatch, and the dash light is still on. How do i replace the switch and where exactly is it? Is it something I could probably order from the dealer and install it myself?

It might be loose or something, I would see if the switch still works but is not contacting properly.
