i originally had the big single 4' opening for my radio. i bought the kit for a din h/u to fit in there, and it worked ok, but i didnt like how the radio kinda stuck out.. i won a radio surround on ebay that was for a 2000 tib, one of the surrounds that has two openings instead of one big opening. i know it fits on there fine, but the h/u doesnt line up correctly in the top opening. i know they sell kits for the 2000 tib radio surround, but is there anything different behind it? like are the things the h/u mounts(radio support i guess) on different on the 2000 and 2001 tibs that would make this kit not work?

 

I have the 2" opening on my 1999 Tib. I have a Sony HU and it doesn't fit in there right either. It works, I just couldn't put the trim piece on it.

 

Yeah, my Pioneer Premier H/U was like that too...no trim piece.

 

I had the same problem with mine.. fortunatly, my radio was the same colour bronze as the dash.. so you really have to look hard to see the gap.
