Hi .... I dont have any instructions with these indiglo guages (2000 tib) ...I'm not sure, but I think I should be cutting the circled areas to make the trim rings fit right..Right??? where the wires meet the guage, the trim rings hit it. I've seen some pics of people leaving the rings off..? which is better? also ,does any one have a pic of the headlight wire I should tap into?( first time taking dash apart..PITA,) ha ha thanks!

I have (what look to be) the same indiglo gauges, but I don't remember trimming that piece at all. In fact, I painted that piece, and I'm quite positive I didn't cut it. Sadly, I don't remember what I DID do because it's been so long since I installed them. Sorry for only half and answer! Hopefully someone else will have the other half! As for the wire to tap into, it's one of the wires that comes out of the dimmer switch... but uh, I don't remember which one... (another half answer... sad.gif )

I think what I did was left those rings on there, but I had to cut a little channel so that the wires will through the gauge and the ring. So that the ring will fit flush against the gauge. I used that circled area to hold the gauge in place.

at the dimmer switch, you want to tap into green/white for power, and black for ground.
as for the fitment, you can notch out the rings, or just notch out the clear plastic peice& stock gauge beneath it.

Thanks a WHOLE lot! is it ok to put a switch with a 10 amp fuse inline to turn the power off when I want? I've also read you have to disconnect the old lights cause they draw power fr the other lights? hope this is not true..(wires are red & red/black stripe)

you could definately put a swith in to turn them off, but why would you? hook them up to the wires i said, and they will come on and go off with illuminations. it would just be extra work.
you dont have to take out the old lights. the el gauges draw hardly any power at all, and shouldnt pop any fuses.

no. in fact, you should put some back there. make sure its the THIN double sided tape. the gauges are EL gauges. any light they put off is becuase of electricity flowing through the EL liquid in them. they need no backlight at all.
