I'm sure this has been done before but i got nothing better to do at school so im gonna try it. I was searching and i stumbled upon on a post about the size of threads on the shifter for our cars. I have a class at school in the metal shop so im going to attempt in making my own shifter knob...probably out of aluminium should be interesting if any of you guys have any ideas on what i should do i'm up for ideas this is just something im doing for fun if it turns out good it turns out good. I'll post pics when im done

My brother made one out of stainless in his metals class. I liked it and it was heavy so the shift felt really great. I would keep some weight at the top of it to get a good feel.

then aluminium might not be the way to go...and stainless is expensive...i might jsut use some high speed steel.
