well i ruined my switch assembly so maybe ill look for a new one. i want a real smooth look to it though

 

dude, forget about your switch assy. take a piece of cardboard, roll it up around the gauge, use the frame of your switch assy and the edges of the switches, fill in the rest with bondo-glass and then sand it all down. who cares if it looks stock or not. As long as it looks clean and good, custom is the way to go.
