Gas Cap Key

Anybody ever try these out? It says it fits Hyundais. European cars have this for security. The cap cannot be opened without the key making it incredibly unworthy for thieves to steal the car (refilling gas).

Not as secure as you might think. I'd say a gas door release inside the car is more of a deterrent than a gas cap with a key; neither will deter a serious thief and both can be defeated in a very short time with hand tools.

If someone really wants to get at it is open in a few secs.
European cars have them with different cylinders i.e. matching the car keys. Those are as safe as your other car locks - some are even hooked up to the alarm.
But like all locks they are more or less a deterrant for "casual" thieves and joy riders.
