So name I'm really pissed and have to run to the stereo shop tomorrow to see if they can do anything for me or if I'm just S.O.L sad.gif I'll keep you guys updated if i get screwed over or not.

That sucks big time. Are you sure you fried the sub and the amp didn't go into overload protection which an amp will do if played at a certain frequency that would cause it to overheat which in that range it would over a period of playing time? Although this would correct itself after cutting power to the amp for about 10 to 15 minutes. Did you smell something burning if you did it's done and will be cheaper to buy a new sub then to try to have it fixed if they can depending on how bad the damage to the voice coil is or voicecoils if it's dual. Well good luck anyway smile.gif.

OUCH! Damn dude. Sorry to hear that. Gotta be careful with the tunes! Are you able to push the cone inward on the sub? If not..you definitly fried the voice coil and like Jaws said...it'll be cheaper to just get a new sub. Also...are your power lights on the amp turned on? If not..you could of maybe just blew a fuse. Good luck dude. Hope you get it fixed.

Yeah thats another thing to check if you can't move the sub by pushing on it and you don't smell anything like it's burnt you might be in luck. See frying the voice coil(s) will still allow you to move the sub unless you really cooked them to the point the melted and bonded with the pole and if you did fry it you should just get a new one it will be cheaper but if it is locked in place and you don't smell anything there is a chance that because of the extreme bass tha the magnet shifted on the pole that conects to the coil(s) and if this happened it is total fixable and can be done by you for no charge. Let me know the specifics of the sub like smell (if any) range of position etc. and I will help you out further.

Well i went to the install shop this morning and they tested the sub and said it was fine. So then we thought it was just a blown fuse. We tried putting two new fuses in and they popped instantly each time we tried it...result-busted amp...no warrenty cuz i got it from ebay so no im gonna give RF a call and see if they can do anything for me. Overall it looks like im going to need to get a new Amp. But lets look at this at a different point of view...It's just like upgrading to bigger and better things...maybe this time my sub wont destroy my amp. The guy at the install shop is given me quotes for a totally new set up now and i think i might go with a fiberglass setup. Ill keep u posted.

Did you buy the amp brand new, sealed in a box? Or was it used? If it was brand new....then there should be a factory warranty on it. Contact RF and let them know what's up. Send to them, have it fixed or replaced, and sell it when you get it back. Use the money to upgrade to as you said..bigger and better! wink.gif Good luck bro....

Talked to the "Speaker Place" an offical dealer for RF and they charged me for 100+ shipping for a new chip board which makes up the majority of the amp. In the end im paying about 470 for the amp so i still make out over all. Still trying to decide if i should upgrade or not. They gave me a quote of 1200 for:
2 crossfire 12in subs
100.2 crossfire amp
and a custom fiberglass enclosure modeled to my trunk.
let me know what you guys think
thanks

What model fosgate amp do you have?
What part id fried on it? The reason I'm asking is because I might be able to help you out in getting a better price well alot better price but I have to know the model, the problem, if it has a removable x-over card, and what year it was made. Let me know and I'll help you out as much as I can.
