Default double checking

ok to paint interior

1. clean good
2. sand with 600 grit
3. primer (let dry)
4. sand with 800 grit
5. paint(3-5 coats)
6. sand with 1000 grit(do i sand after i paint?)
7. clear coat (3-5 coats)

is that correct..(if not then how)...also im getting walmart stuff but what kind of primer and paint should i get..I.E..interior/exterior...high temp...sandable...enamel...laquer...ceramic based
im open for tips and any advice..

I would wet sand between the paint and clear applications. As for primer, get the best you can find or your going to have some problems down the road.

Some wet sand between the paint and clear, others just use a fine grit sandpaper, it really doesn't matter. If you are using a high gloss paint, then I would probably wet sand. Use 800 grit paper, get it wet, and keep the surface you are sanding wet. This way you maintain texture and gloss. If you get runs or other blemishes in the clear coat then it is neccesary to wet sand. Use something like 800, then polish it off with something a little finer.

BTW, my ratings are back on. I turned them off a while back because some a-hole with a grudge was giving me 1 star.
