Door sills..............
Does any one here have custom door sills on their 2000 Tib? I just received my pair from SR,and I have a couple Q's.
(1)Should I mount them directly on top of the factory sill?
(2)Should I first remove the factory sill, then mount the new ones?
(3)If #2 is yes,how do I go about removal?
TIA!!

The stock sills are held in place with 4 "tabs" that fit into 4 "clips" in the body. You just pop them out. Easiest way is with a large flat bladed screwdriver wrapped in a rag to keep it from scracthing the body. Just keep moving it from one end to the other and you should be able to "feel" where the 4 tabs are. Just pop them out one by one.
Wait a minute............are you talking about the plastic trim that runs the length of the door,to the inside of the door seal??
The one I mean is to the outside of the door seal. You know, when you open the door, you see a black piece that has vinyl grain. It sits fairly flat down on the body and is on the outside of the seal.

The Diamond Plated Door Sills I (still) sell (for the Tiburon's) are mounted by double sided tape. And are full replacements to the stock door sills. Here is a picture of them. Just thought I'd share this info. for the new members.
