So I saw this deal on Gibby's Audio Video on until tomorrow for the Alpine CDA-9886 HU.
http://www.gibbysaudiovideo.com/alpine-cda...ver-p-2539.html

$288.99 +13% tax
= $326.55 CAD
+ shipping?

http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/p...?model=CDA-9886
The MSRP from the alpine site is $350 American + taxes + shipping

Any comments, imput?

And here's a picture for those who won't click the link:

It's not an amazing deal, but it's a good price. No one actually sells for the MSRP.

They have it for $299 USD, with free shipping, however maybe not to Canada.

edit: Please update your profile with your Tiburon year and Location.

The problem with the Crutchfield is that the Canadian is only trading at .787 American...
So you'd have to add like 21% to that price, then tax, international shipping and you get rapped at the border. 02.gif

Two months ago it was on bar too... crazy economy.

if you crunch the numbers it might be cheaper to have someone in the states buy it and have them ship it to you....

Hmm, so my final decision comes down between the Alpine CDA-9886 and the Alpine IDA-X100...

From what I gather, they're both basically the same thing, just one plays CDs, and the other is strictly iPod compatible... The 9886 has slightly more customizeable EQ..

X100

Comparison from the Alpine site..

I suggest going with the 86. you can get the ai-net cable and be able to control your ipod throught the 86 and have the better sound options, not that either alpine will sound anything, but amazing.

I have a biased opinion, but I love my IDA-X100. All I ever use is my Ipod so it's perfect for my needs, but I would only get it if you use just your Pod. It can have a CD changer hooked up to it, but if you use Cd's then I'd stick with a player that has CD capability. Why waste the money on a receiver and a changer if you can get it all in one. I've never touched a Alpine CDA-9886, so I can't compare the two, but I personally haven't had anything but great performance from the X100.
