Dash speaker grills
Has any one been able to remove the dash speaker grills on a 2nd gen Tib?? What did you use to remove them??
I know each one has 2 or 3 clips that secures them to the dash. The problem I have is trying to get something up under an edge to pop them up.

I've tried a small flat screw driver, but can't seem to get enough force into it.
I'll have to try some more.
Yeah,I'm considering replacing the grill fabrick and also see if a 2-3" midrange speaker will fit.
Thanks for the input.

i too couldn't get the tweets grills off, i tried my pocket knife to pry it off, and with a little elbow grease, i ended up cutting my dash around the grill a bit. i haven't tried since. I'm just gonna put my infinity tweets in the door above the lock and avoid the hassle. I'm just trying to find where the crossover is in the dash now...
If you're using aftermarket tweets, they should come with xovers. Why and what xovers are you trying to find????? The factory tweets will have very basic 6 db/oct xovers, mounted directly to the tweets. You don't want to use these.
A-HA! ok, since i never got the grills off, i never saw that the Xovers were built into them... good. and yes, the new componant system has woofs, tweets and the crosses... i'll just have to disconnect the old ones before installing the new ones. i just need an amp first, my deck isn't strong enough to make them sound better than stock.
You are definetely better off using an external amp to power component speakers. Most hu (head unit)amplifiers are not strong enough to put power through those xovers.
Let me know if you end up needing help with anything on your system.I know alot about this stuff!
