i removed my dash because i was painting some stuff and hooking up some other wires.
tapped into the wires i needed, and everything is dry..but now i can't seem to reassemble my dash. there is something in the way, the heater knob will only turn half-way for some reason (will turn from cold to middle, not to the red side), and the air recirculation button won't pop back out once u click it in. i can't find out what it is...i think it is something to do with the heat knob system.
someone help plz i need to put my dash back on! i really wanted to do it tonight :-(

Check the routing of the Heater cable. You've got it wrong.
As for the button, WTF did you do?
LOL

How did you take out the heater cable?

And it it connected back up correctly?

Not sure about the recirc button though.
Take it outta the dash and see if it works normal then

okay this is what is happenning---it looks to me that when i turn my knob, that white piece should slide UP AND DOWN, but when i turn mine it slides up and to the right, pulling it off of that black pivot-screw plate thing i can see this when i take that screw off, that screw is what was stopping it from turning fully--------so now how do i fix it and make it slide up and down instead (is that what it's supposed to do?)

but it SHOULD pull UP, right?

when i turn the knob to the right that white thing is pulled to the right instead of up (it looks like it should pull up!, or am i all wrong..a diagram/explanation of how this is SUPPOSED to work plz?) thanks!

when i turn it is being pulled to the right, when that black screw is in you cannot turn it all the way because the screw stops the piece from sliding so far right (this is starting from all the way left like in that pic, and when the knob is also all the way left on cold) this is really making me mad now! cuz i know it is simple but i can't seem to figure it out...

Like I said, you ROUTED the CABLE the WRONG way!!!!
Take the dash about half out, look at the HEATER CABLE, the metal one, there are like 3 different ways you can route it to get there, you put it thru the wrong one.

Oh hell, I didn't even think about that possibility!
I've done it so many times and have payed attention the first few times which way that thing is routed, that I don't even think about it when I do it now.
