CD Player
Okay, so about 2-3 weeks ago my stock CD player in my Tib starts playing the CD's kind of choppy.. the next day they play fine, the next day they are really choppy, the next day it won't even play the CDs, the next day it played CD's just fine for awhile then they were choppy as hell again. Now for the last 2 weeks, it won't play any CD's, it just sits there, then says "Er6" and ejects the CD. Anyone know what's up? I tried one of those cleaning CD's and it didn't recognize that either. I looked in the owner's manual for the car, and all it shows is how to insert CDs and tapes. Any help? Thanks,.

Does that happen when you play CD-R's? Many times, cheapass CD-Rs have horrible performance.

well the audio in your car is only warrantied for 1 year or 12k miles. i'm sure you've passed that one up. i don't think they have a reset button on them so the best thing to do would be toss the pos out the window.
Blah.. didn't wanna fork over the cash for a new deck. Oh well. And no, it happens on any CD, not just CD-R's..
So whatcha guys think of this one?

well mine wouldn't turn on one time and i took it to a stereo place where i just got my system intalled and they unhooked it tested it and it was fine then put it back in and it worked so try taking it out then putting it back in it worked for me.
If you wanted to spend the time, do a search on that error message. You'll find exactly what it means. I had a related problem with my new panasonic head unit, and it was junk staple brand CD-R's, but I got an err-4 message.
