Car Dvd Parking Brake Sensor And Removing Dash Part
A couple of days ago i got a nice new Car Audio/Dvd player. Not the kind with the "huge" 7" screen, but a smaller 4.3" widescreen. I've tried to install it yesterday, but i came uppon 2 problems.
First problem is that the player has a Parking Break sensor on it, and I couldnt really find a nice place to attach the cable (doesnt say in the book as well). But my main preference would be to bypass it in some way. Anyone have any experience with bypassing Parking Brake security for incar dvd players (the type is a Car2Go). If not, anyone know where and how to attach the cable?
Then my second problem is that because the screen is a little bigger then a standard 1 din i cant attach the screen when the stereo is put in. Ive tried to get the dash part around the car stereo out, but it seems to be stuck somewhere (got the top loose, just not the bottom). Do i need to remove other parts first? Or are there some hidden screws or can i just pull it? Its a RD1 dash. Ive tried to search, but all i see are people saying its so easy to do, which might be true, but im still a bit cautious when it comes to taking my car apart smile.gif
Hope someone can help me out

The wire is supposed to hook up to the e-brake switch. It's on the ebrake!
You can bypass the switch by grounding the wire on the stereo.
If it's a jensen, you can activate the easter egg and never even see that message.
As for #2, i wrote a DIY guide. http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtop...946&hl=trim

Thanks both for the clear reply's.
Im going to see if the grounding of the Parking Brake wire thing works. Its not a Jensen, besided Car2Go it has no brand on it.
For the second part, both answers where clear, it isnt a full double din stereo though. The front of the stereo is just a bit bigger, the rest is single din. But if i get the dash loose i dont think adjusting it so the front also fits wouldnt be that hard anymore.
Im going to try next weekend when i got more time, thanks again for the reply's and if it fails i'll let you know (and if it works as well ofcourse)
