Calling all Bros. Gauge owners

Calling all Bros. Gauge owners
Hi there,
I have a couple things I'm curious about asking, and I'll try not to take up too much of your time.
1) Did your gauges look like mine when you got them?
http://kspec.rdtiburon.com/viewtopic.php?t=745
2) If so, did you have to get the aftermarket bulbs to make them light up properly?
3) If they didn't look like that, did your stock bulbs light them up ok?
Thanks a lot!
Tom

Well I have the first generation of BROS (KM/H ONLY)
And it's got "dark spots":
But that's where the LED goes, so it needs to be a little darker, so it's not brighter, when it's lit there.
And yeah I got I the Extra LEDs. I got them from Rick, years ago:

I know the 2 sets I got and sold here worked perfectly and did NOT remember anything looking like those dark spots.
I sold one set to TC, and you can ask her how they look. I held them up to a bright light in the office here and the light came thru fine.
Again Overtge, let us know what you want us to do.

Got exactly the same ones. It's suppose to be like that. At first I was surprised as well, but I have them installed and it's a little darker/lighter at some places but I still use the stock bulbes.
You can see that the whole gauges are blue, it looks like on the backside that there are spots that don't have the blue paint. It's still blue but it's just not noticable on the backside. Reason for this is that behind the darker area's the bulbs is suppose to be. Bulbs give out more light on the source then further away. So to make the blue glow evenly on the dashboard layout there's more darker blue on the bulbs places then on the area's where the bulbs are further away from.
Trust me, it works smile.gif

I don't suppose you could help me find the right bulbs that I need for the car? I have a 98 Tiburon... just want the gauges to look right thats all.
And I see you're in Winterpeg. smile.gif I was out a few weeks ago on business, yup... it was cold. I live in Moncton, NB... it gets pretty cold here too!

Yeah, what Viper said.
They sell them on KSpec and I actually had one set of bulbs kicking around, I didn't need.
it's been so long since I got them, I don't remember,...

what viper said...
its diffusion, and its meant to be there. its a little too much though. if you want, you can take a qtip and some oops and lightly wipe it away. make sure not to go down too far, or you will wipe the blue color away as well.
