Cali Quake!!!!
Which is a better sound set-up a single 15" sub or a pair of 12", i'm using a tube for know but need a little more of a Quake!!!! eek.gif eek.gif Also need to save trunk space for future mods...
Well, I used to have a single 15" Solo Baric. Extreme lows. Now I have two 12" Boss Audios. I like the Boss better because I listen to alot of dj music..d&b, breaks, jungle. The 12s are more responsive for those fast bass hits and I tuned the box myself to also get nice lows. Shakes the gutters on my friends house. All that weight isn't too good for performance though wink.gif

I'm more of a 10" subs kinda guy.....10's push more air than 12's, especially if you have 3 10's set up in a box.....they hit a bit harder than 12's, but not as deep. I listen to more industrial, rock, and jungle type sh^t and I never liked 12's for that type of stuff....plus newer rap music uses lots of hard quick hits and f>cked up beats. I also have a Tibby so that hatch is prime for 10's.....
A single 12" itself isn't to bad either. I have one 12" Infinity Perfect 12.1 in a Q-Logic Bandpass box with a Infinity Beta Digital 100 amp(400 watts briged) and it gives some real heavy pounding bass and it really sounds great too. It also doesn't take up to much trunk space. If you use your trunk alot I would definitly suggest a single sub otherwise this set up would be nice-Do a display of 3 12's along the seats and 1 15 where the spare tire is it would be a great looking display, saw this in a Eclipse once and boy was it LOUD!!!
who me, chrometib? I'm set, my car sounds great! It's not comp quality as I haven't put the time into it (i'm more about performance) Infinity's all around and 2 12's in the trunk. Kenwood eXcelon cd soon to be Kenwood mp3 player. I'm just thinking about upgrading my subs some day..I can wait for the w7's, I know that'll be awhile.

For a while, when I was into the whole audio scene, I had four JL 12W0 subs, two Hifonics amps, two 1-farad caps, and a Phoenix Gold active crossover for the appropriate beefy bass.
I had one huge 5.25 cubic foot box, which was actually divided into two 2.625 cubic foot halves. Each half was ported to 31hz using a pair of 3" PVC ports. Each half of the box had one pair of the JL subs, and was powered by a single bridged Hifonics Centurion (350W RMS x 1 channel @ 2 ohm) amplifier and one matched cap.
I ran a best of 149.2db at 53hz measured at the windshield (put the mic in the bottom driver's corner), which was good enough for me smile.gif I've never tried measuring it for outlaw class (where you can put the mic wherever you want), but it would get painful if you stuck your head into the back hatch glass
I'll post pictures when my damn Webspace provider comes back up sad.gif
