Buying New Headunit
Ok, my girlfriend's mom wants my help to buy my girlfriend a car stereo. No high end equipment needed. In my experience from browsing these forums you people can shop like crazy so now I turn to you. I have come to the conclusion that the headunit I'm going to suggest that she get is the Kenwood KDC-MP435U. I am open to other suggestions though. Bestbuy has it for $135 right now.

It has the options that I'm looking for and the price is good...
Plays CD-Rs
Plays MP3s
Sirius/XM Sat and HD ready
It also has that usb port on the face that she could plug in a usb thumb drive to listen to MP3s and I like the idea of that. Plus it looks pretty good too.
Anybody have any other suggestions on headunits comparable to this one in the same general price range?

Pioneer makes some that would be in the same range also. With MP3 playback, front aux in and sattelite and HD ready. That Kenwood looks nice though. Ive always liked Alpine in my cars also.
If you want bling, go sony, pioneer, kenwood etc...
if you want real quality of sound reproduction, go Alpine. Hands down the best in sound quality and reproduction.

I have enjoyed my Blaupunkts.. been good headunits in the couple I have had. Been looking at their new digital only units recently, everything held in a memory chip instead of using CDs

I have the Kenwood MP-532U (no longer carried I think), which is very similar to the 432U. I absolutely love it, there's a lot you can control, and the USB port is priceless. I have the USB (mine's on a cable coming from the back of the deck) and an aux cable, and can play anything. I have a 2gb USB drive that frequently change around, and my gf can plug her ipod into the aux port at any time. Amazing sound quality and power, and looks really nice too. Great buy.
I still have a hu for sale and I think it'll do what your looking for. It's the Pioneer DEH-P6600. Cheaper then the store and works great. Specs can be found here:

Ericy, yes you could do that and you could also even just plug in a thumbdrive with a bunch of MP3s too.
I narrowed it down to 2 different ones. The one I originally posted and then a Pioneer one. I've decided on the Kenwood because the features were exactly the same and the prices were the same but the Kenwood would look a lot cleaner with her car's interior.
Viper, if you still have it at the beginning of February PM me. Seriously, I'll take it from you but for now we are wanting to get her a brand new one.
