Class A amps will run hotter and waste more energy. That is the difference. Considering your car puts out several KILOwatts of waste heat from the radiator, energy efficiency is not a thing to consider in a car stero amp IMO.
In a house, you can start getting legit comparisons between classes, when your house speakers cost more than your car. For a car, from a good amplifier brand, you won't be able to hear a difference.
