When I got my Sirius installed (not factory) I wanted to use the Aux/Ipod jack in the center console over RF modulation. Well the guy installing it could not figure out why I was getting engine/alternator whine in the line. Checked and made sure everything was grounded and whatnot. Was wondering what you guys might recommend in troubleshooting this. The port isnt an RCA port its like the stereo ports you have in sound cards in computers.

Alternator wine is usually caused by having power wires too close to signal wires (like RCA or phono wires). You should look at getting a ground loop isolator for the signal.

It's just a little box that you put in between your serius receiver and the HU, which reduces/eliminates the noise.
