Anybody have an idea whether or not I could switch out the gear selector in an Elantra for the one in the Tibby. I have the really ugly bulbous gear selector. I was curious if I could swith it for the one in the tibby. I know that any thing can be done but more directly I am wondering if it would require a large amount of custom work or be pretty easy swap?

 

I dislike the one in the tibby personally, but I would assume it would be a very simple proceedure. Remove the screws from the shifter, cut the three wires connecting the O/D, slide on the new handle, splice in the wires and tada! I would almost garentee that all Hyundias have the three wire system, which from what I can tell would be your only road block.

 

The Tib's have a different shaft set up. Theirs is straight and ours is closer to the "T" style. The wire is not an issue. I need to know if I would have to simply switch out the whole shaft.
