I have an Infinity Reference 1250w 12" sub that I'm looking to install. Its rated at 300rms max but I don't know much about amps (what brands are best). Link to specs
Here are some of the amps that I'm looking at:
Rockford Fosgate Punch P325.2 : P325.2
Infinity 311a:311a
Profile AP1000M:AP1000M
or Kenwood KAC-8104D: KAC-8104D
I really can't decide on them. I originally was going with the Rockford Fosgate but looked around and found those ones. If you have others to suggest that would fit this sub please do.
Also, any suggestions where the best place to buy an amp install kit?

Old rockford Amps were THEE best on the market, hands down. Then they took a curve for the worse. I have heard that their workmanship and quality of parts is coming back, but if it where me, I would look at either Alpine or elemental designs. And if you must get one of the 4 you posted, go with the Infinity. You will not be disappointed. fing02.gif

i have an older profile ca600m amp i'd be willing to sell you for 75 shipped.
300w x 1 rms at 4 ohms
420w x 1 rms at 2 ohms

everyone has always knocked profile amps but i think they sound pretty good. just yesterday i was showing some people on my sae university team my carpc (which puts out an extremely weak signal to the amps) what it can do and one of them commented on liking it when his hair moves from the bass. that was with the 420rms 2 ohm load but you get the picture.
you could get another one of those subs and it would pound with this amp at 2 ohms.

I went with the profile 1000M and actually finished my fiberglass box and installed the amp and sub today, haven't had a chance to tune it for the exact sound I want but I'm loving the extra bass. I probably make a thread in a few days with some pics of it.

well since your new, i will help you out, have the box pointed at the BACK of your car, yes the back. because in order for the sub to be fully effective it needs something to bounce off of. point it at the back. If your car starts rattling, then you know its time for some Dynamat(not everyone wants to dish out for this however. Just a tip from somebody who has worked in the industry for a few years.

dynamat blows. and as far as facing the subs to the rear, you really have to test it out in every car to see what sounds best to you. typically with shorter cars it does sound better but that rule doesn't always apply because of all the different reflections that can occur causing the other waves to be out of phase.
if you are going to be nitpicking rear-firing vs front-firing than you might as well move the subs all over the hatch to really get the optimum sound.
