Alumminum Shifter Ring Surrounds Rd2
i am thinking about getting some aluminum shifter surrounds made for the rd2. anyone interested.. they will look almost identical to these..
i duno how much they will cost, but i am thinking they will be offered sandblasted, gloss black, metallic blue, graphite, etc. etc.. i dont feel like polishing them, so if you want to, you can, and just say you want RAW aluminum.

pricing will PROBABLY range from 30-40$shipped including the stainless allen head bolts and nuts. also, if you want, you can ship the surround to me, AT NO EXTRA cost, and i will install your shifter boot and the ring.
they will probably be a little different than those, and i will have some of the aluminum taken off where possible to keep them as light as possible..

I'm in. Kikassboy moved to LA and the guy in NY that was doing them won't return his calls or anything now.
Think we could get some indentions put in between the bolts for looks?
Sounds a tiny bit expensive, but I'm still in for one, the sooner the better.
BTW, I edited the topic title, this is for the RINGS, not the surround.

yes, indentions or maybe even custom arced text may be available.. lemme draw some up in CAD and make some designs and see how intricate the pieces can be and still keep them within that price range.. yah, i think people will still buy them at that price, and its no problem for me if they dont. im trying to get some parts made, and i need to make a lil and my dad needs to make a lil $$ for the time for making them..
:going to CAD to draw some stuff up:

I should clarify bro, I'm sorry.
40 shipped would be too much, $30 to $34.87 would be acceptable, especially if it had like the site logo and our usernames put on them.

I'm in. I would really like it to be polished though. Or brushed.
It looks like we would have to drill through the stock surround and put nuts on the ends of those bolts. Correct?

34.87$$ WTF?? lol.. we will see, i will get one made first, and see how much time it takes, and how much material costs, etc.. hopefully i can do em under 40 shipped.
well like i said, IF you want, send the whole thing to me, and i will do it for free..

Polishing it yourself will be very easy, I want it that way too, or powdercoated, since the KDM dash swap is Brushed Aluminum.
Drilling right through is probably the best bet, good idea.
