i'm not worried about the monitor anymore got over that idea, but i did want an aftermarket steering wheel, to improve leg room. I don't understand why if YOU take the airbag in YOUR car out, how that is a federal offence, it's YOUR car. But if you wreck and blow it and dont replace it, it isn't?

LOL. I understand that, I just don't understand why they would do that.

what about this? would this make not illegal? or would it still be because you didn't replace them?

LOL
They DO that because crashing without them leads to death.
LOL
I've been told that if you get in a wreck with the airbags deployed, you have to get the car inspected before it goes back on the road.
Guess what they look for?

Once you disconnect the airbag can't you reconnect it?? I was thinking about doing this as well, but just for shows or something.
Sure you can, just unhook the - on the battery before you start any work on the steering wheel ( read my post about fitting an aftermarket steering wheel first) get the airbag out, steering wheel off and get the adapter for the new steering wheel on (make it fitt first) just reverse the handelings and "voila"
Don't forget to take out the fuse of the airbag control light (and put it back in once the original steering wheel goes on again)
