so all my old audio was stolen and I'm left with 2 mtx 12s and want to go from there on.
heres the subs
i was thinking of getting this amp as a starting point. mainley due to it being cheap and having 5 channels. this will make it nice when i upgrade the rest of the speakers.

heres the AMP

opinions?

Never heard of TIS... and it's refurbished. I'd leave it.

Not sure about that amp but I use this site : Car Audio Deals when shopping on a budget.

I've ordered from them for friends a few times and they're a reliable site. Always get my stuff on time and packaged well. Stuff is pretty cheap there, so browse the amps if ya want.

Not the best name brand stuff, but cheap and it works.

Mate, don't waste your money on it. I learnt my lesson the hard way. First of all it sounds like crap. Second of all it actually puts massive stress on the electricals and third it doesn't have half the power and abillity to control the speakers as rated. If you can save up get yourself a jl amp either the g or / series. They are top notch or even the zapco's are brilliant. If you want something cheap, spend a 100 bucks on a kenwood. They are not bad at all for the money.

there is two things that i go buy when i buy car audio, basically two laws:

1. BUY AND HAVE INSTALLED BY THE ACUTAL DEALER THE BEST CAR ALARM YOU CAN AFFORD BEFORE BUYING ANYTHING ELSE!!!

2. never bragging about what you have or install it in a way in which everyone in god's creation can see it.

I bought my seperates and subs when i had money in hand. true it cost about twice as much since i bought it from a acutal stereo shop but the install when it comes time will be free and it is noted on my receipt which i still keep in the boxes.

The amplifier I will be going with is the JL Audio 500.5, the main reason i am replying to this thread since you noted you wanted a 5-channel amp. The installer wants a grand for the amp, which truthfully is 2 bucks a watt which isnt bad but i have found the same amp on ebay for 400 to 500.

I will be doing all the sub box work, amp rack, etc., to save money but I will be having them install for warranty purposes. Intalked to my installer and he told me if i can prove that the amp came from a authorized JL Audio dealer he would install it and still make good on the warranty work if needed.

It's just like anything else bro, doing something right takes time and cash. It's much more worth it in the end if you save along the way after getting the alarm system installed to get the best you really want, not with what you can live with.
