Default 4ch amp

Im in the midst of replacing my amp for my mids and highs... I need 1 amp to run 2 6x9s 200RMS/Pair and 2 5.25 Components 160RMS/Pair... Anyone have a good amp or know of one that will fit my needs? I can't even locate a decently priced 4x100 RMS that is under $200.

You probably won't find a 4ch amp with that power that is any good for less the $200.I think you may have to try to be more flexible with your money,or you will have to settle for something that is maybe not to your standards.

I've got the Blaupunkt PA4100. It's a dang fine amp, and flexible, too!

But it cost me around 800 canadian...so that's...um....around 500 USD. Yeah....it'll do what you need and more, but like Mr.MADTIB said...you get what you pay for.

That's cool........I have a set of Eclipse mid/hi's that sound great!! I have never heard their amps or hu's,though.Personally I like Fosgate and Alpine.

madtib....its really the combo of the hu and the amp that really makes a difference.....i have the stock fronts but push 85 watts through them...and well they sound a butt load better then some aftermarket speaker sets i have heard!!! eek! they really do make quality stuff....!!

I understand what you are saying........but there is alot more to this stuff then just the hu and amp!! The way you set up the sound stage has alot to do with things,as well as xover points and Eq.

For example: I have a 3-way sound stage.6.75" mid bass woofers in the doors and 2" midrange/hi's that are mounted in custom made a-pillar pods. The midbass is bandpassed from 50hz 12db/oct to 200hz 12db/oct.Then the 2's are hi passed at 1khz 12db/oct.This allows the midbass to be tighter and more powerful, since the usable bandwidth is only 150hz wide.It also greatly cleans up the mid range so that vocals are not as garbled,as it usually is when you have one set of woofers playing mid bass and mid range together.Once I get my subs put in,everything will tie in almost perfectly!!! I say almost because nothing is 100%.

Now, I'm sure most of you don't care about audio quite as much as me, to warrant you doing all this. But, the point I'm making is that xover points and speaker set up has alot to do with things.

The 5.25 Comps have a external crossover, to shape the sound better and the 3way 6x9s can be adjusted through the amp that I got. I am very happy with what I have purchased thus far, but ask me next week when I get it all tuned in...

LIVE.......just be sure to set the amp gain correctly, and the xover point for the front/rear speakers.I know you have passive xovers for the front 5.25's,but those are to low pass to the woofers and hi pass to the tweeters. You will still need a hi pass xover to keep unwanted bass from the 5.25's.Hopefully that amp has continously variable xover points so you can experiment a little. Most 5.25's will handle an 80 or 90hz hi pass point.I wouldn't try going lower then 80hz.As for the 6x9's,they may be able to handle a 50 or 60hz hi pass.
