4 those with capacitor's
I just picked up a new cap with a digi display. What should it normally be reading? Mine is at 14.3...and when the beats hit it drops as low as 12 or 11. Normal, or no? Are 2 cap's better than 1? I'm dropping in another amp this weekend for my 6x9's (250watt)...think it would be wise to hook a cap to that, or is that overkill?
Do u still have the stock battery? If so, then the amperage would drop that low. They aren't exactly the best batteries. As far as a 2nd cap, how many watts is your sub amp? And you probably wouldn't need a cap for a component amp, as they don't have the load on them that a sub amp does.
I wonder what the benefit of better connectors to your battery are. I had my 1200 watt sub amp hooked up to a 1 farad cap and a Deep Cycle Marine Optima Bluetop and my numbers went from 14 to 12.4ish when the bass hit hard. I just put on 24k Gold plated connectors (pretty as hell!), and it drops from 14.6 to 14.2-3 now. What's up with that. I didn't ground it better, so should I use some left over 4 gauge or get some 0? Cause my connectors have imputs for 1- 0gauge, 1- 4gauge and 2- 8gauge wires. Is a 0 guage ground over kill?

Dont capacitors have an in-built 'volt' meter, so its not a measure of amps.Do u still have the stock battery? If so, then the amperage would drop that low. They aren't exactly the best batteries. Ive seen plenty of installs with installs with volt meters and when you crank it up, the power from your battery will drop......boom is right - it depends on the drain of your sub.
allways upgrade your ground off your battery, its one of the biggest things people forget to do.
think of it this way, your have 4 gauge power running back to your amp, and u got a 4 gauge ground from your amp to the chasis, but yet most people still have the stock ground off the battery to the chasis. so your stock ground is suppsed to run everything your car has stock, and the ground u have going to your amp, it just isnt smart.
upgrade your ground to at least a 4 gauge, but it would be smart to upgrade it to a 0 gauge.
