4 point harness.
Been thinking about 4 point harness today.
Now...general...you lose the back seats since you have to run them back.
but cant you loop them over the seats shoulder and down to the rear bolts holding the seats in.
Then loop the bottom ones down to the front seat bolts, or back the rear again.
I am guessing. its putting alot of stress on those bolts.
Has any come up with an idea to have a 4 point harness and not lose your back seat?
Or some sort quick connect/disconnect feature.
So when you its not auto-x weekend you can remove them for passengers.

running a 4 pt harnass on a car without a roll cage can kill you if u roll the car.... just a FYI
u can just fold ur seats down.. there are anchors in ur trunk and use those for ur shoulders...

Nope, this is real.
Don't get those harnesses unless you have a roll cage and are planning to drive high speeds. If it's just for occasional auto-x and then you remove it for streets, then it's okay.
This is what I've heard. If you roll over with a harness and no rollcage your spine will get crushed in the seat. If you roll over with a regular seatbelt, you can squish down some so you won't get hurt as much.
If you do decide to get 4-point, I suggest Schroth Rallye harness. They are street legal (DOT approved).

Shaddoh, there is at least 1 company (Schroth) that makes bolt in harnesses that have a quick disconnect for the shoulder belts so you can easily remove them when not autocrossing. Running the harness down to the floor is a bad idea, in even a minor accident the restraint of forward motion is leveraged into downward force, enough to compress your spine. Using the truck mounts is a good idea if you can find a harness long enough to reach them.
On the harness with no rollcage thing...The danger is because if your roll the car with no cage, the roof can collapse inward. Where a stock seatbelt will allow you to tip sideways or slide downward slightly, a 4 point harness does not allow you to move, thus your head or spine is crushed.

these:

and unfortunately, or fortunately, whichever you think, because of these harnesses, I had to redo my AMP SETUP completely, but trust me you will all like it 10x's better... smile.gif to those that have seen the beginning project, what do you think???
