Default 2012 Veloster Sound System

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed how "Bad " the sound system in the Veloster is? The question is will better speakers fix the weak sound or will it require a whole different receiver as well? I really don't want to pull the touch screen receiver that came with the car but the sound is just so....... mediocre.

Which package did you get? There have been some guys replacing the stock speakers with better made aftermarket ones. The stock paper cone speakers are what they are. Wasn't sure if you got the base, style (with 8" sub added) or tech (Dimension audio system).

The stock 150 watt system in mt 1997 Tib was really good, and they're good with my 200 watt system now (I don't think an upgrade is worth the money because the sound is really crisp as it is). I would think that the sound and quality on the ones on the Veloster are at least better than that?

Don't get me wrong, my stock Elantra ones have been fine too, but the addition of the 12" Alpine definitely helped in that department. If I had gone with no sub, an external amp and door and deck upgrades probably would have happened.

Just got the base system that came with the #1 style pkg., 6 speakers (6 in), 2 small tweeters in the front doors.

I replaced the stock speakers in my Accent with some nice Polks and they improved the sound dramatically, I was thinking of doing the same in the veloster.
