Default 2 Probs after Gauge install

After installing APC indiglo gauges in my 99 tiburon i have one big problem and one minor one.

- My clock is not working anymore. I followed the directions on the website that Random posted up but didn't diconnect the wires behind the top part of the dash except for the fog light plug. So, air con, fan, blahblah were kept plugged in(except for disconnected heater cable) While leaving the top part of the dash left apart i went for a ride to make sure the gauges work and that the needles were adjusted right. and now nothing....they are completely out. the plug is still connected, i reconnected it just in case. Also, for a little while the rear defrost button was out for a little bit but i just kept pushing the button and then it started working! anyone know what's going on? everything else is working fine? does it have anything to do with me not disconnecting the battery? HELP PLZ!!!

- On the ash tray reconnection i believe i took apart the thermal fuse box, i can't seem to put it back together, whatever the white plastic box thing was i undid it, so, now im kinda lost on putting it back together....i looked at the picture on the gauge install and can't seem to see anything that looks like a thermal fuse box...was the white thing it? if so...does anyone know how to put it back together?

THANKS FOR THE HELP EVERYONE.

DeK3

If the clock is out, it is because it is disconnected. It is a bitch, but you have to rip your dash apart and reconnect it. It is a simple connection, and a simple device...it could be broken/burned out, but I doubt it.

On the ash tray thing...does the ash tray light come on but the lighter doesn't work, or are they both out?

Ash try light runs off a different circut that the lighter itself, so the fuze could be the cause. Check that.

Good Call Viper!

I have the same problem with the rear defrost it still doesn't work and all the fuses are ok and the dealership even replaced the switch and still nothing. What's up with that. Oh and as far as your clock goes it is connected to the same fuse your power mirrors are on if your mirrors work than it's not that.

If the defroster does not stay on, you have the cruise cable plugged into the defroster switch. Look at my Gauge Install FAQ.

You need to color code the wires and dots.

If that is not done...if they do not match, the buttons will not work right.
